What a family is
The family name is the surname rolled with the character. Players also call it a clan. It is not the race. A wipe keeps both. Essence Family Rerolls, and a Locked Family Name Reroll artifact, are the documented changes.
Legendary
| Family | Buff |
|---|---|
| Clover | +10% XP, +10% mastery gain, +10% proficiency gain, plus a fourth +10% line |
| Anchor | +5% physical damage, +20 Health, +10% health regen, +5% physical resistance |
| Morningstar | +5% magic damage, +15% health regen, +5% magic resistance |
| Chrono | +5% Time damage, +15 Energy, +15% energy regen |
The fourth Clover line is the conflict. One write-up calls it profession XP. Another ends the line with "+10% All." Both agree on the XP, mastery, and proficiency lines. Do not treat "+10% to every stat" as confirmed.
Epic, uncommon, and common
Epic names add 5% damage for one magic plus a smaller extra: Raijin (Lightning, and +4% physical), Tempest (Wind, and +10% energy regen), Vermillion (Flame, and +15 Health), Eclipse (Shadow, and +4% magic resistance), Sable (Beast, and +10% health regen), Solstice (Light, and +12 Energy).
Uncommon names are smaller generic buffs: Hemlock +2% magic damage, Kravitz +2% physical damage, Aspen +8 Health, Silver +2% magic resistance, Marigold +5% health regen, Steele +2% physical resistance, Willow +5% energy regen, Starling +6 Energy.
Angel, Swallow, Wren, Rook, Crowe, Warren, Vitesse, and Rapual have no bonus. Those are the names worth a Family Reroll if Essence is spare.
Published rarity percentages are omitted. The figures in circulation do not agree, and one breakdown even prints a different percent on every common name.
